Positive peace action in turbulent times

NFPB members in Liverpool

We were warmly welcomed at Liverpool Meeting House, in the bustling city-centre, for our first meeting of the year. Members had travelled from many parts of the North, from East Scotland to North Wales and regions across the North of England. Our meeting began and closed with periods of silent worship.

Further action on nuclear weapons needed

Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty - briefing from ecumenical peace network

As part of the Network of Christian Peace Organisations, we are pleased to support this new briefing , coming out at a crucial stage of decision-making about nuclear weapons. As some of the major global players are now moving away from the existing agreements, there is an even greater need to push for implementation of this new treaty and to working for the end of nuclear weapons.

NFPB members gathered in Sheffield for our last meeting of the year, being joined by a number of other Friends from the Area Meeting. On this occasion, as well as some routine business and sharing news of Friends’ peace witness across the North, Friends participated in two workshops.
