Coming events – election-resources, NFPB gatherings

General election 2024

At the time of writing, we are in the run-up to the general election.
We have created a page which will be updated as necessary – with links to resources from a range of organisations with peace concerns on their agenda.
Elections are opportunities to raise these issues with candidates, and then to follow this up with newly elected parliamentarians.

We are planning our own events that happen to be taking place either side of the election date.

NFPB meeting on 29th June

On 29th June NFPB members will meet in Glasgow and online for the second of our meetings of the year. How we bring up peace concerns in the political and wider realm will be part of our agenda, including the continuing challenge of nuclear weapons. NFPB Friends will join with others the following day for a Meeting for Worship outside the Faslane nuclear submarine base. Contact the NFPB office for further details

Climate and peace – Darlington, 6 July

We shall be holding our second regional event of the year on 6th July at Darlington Meeting House, with Friends from across the North East of England and beyond invited to participate. The focus will be on rethinking security, and with a particular emphasis on climate and peace. Information about this is available here.
