We had our new posters printed in time to take a good supply to the Quaker ‘Yearly Meeting Gathering’ at the beginning of August and were pleased to see Friends liked them. The posters consist of three reproductions of earlier designs, which we hope will be useful for those wanting to mark the centenary of the First World War over the coming four years with a message of peace. The fourth is a new poster, reflecting our concerns for promoting peaceful approaches to the range of potential and actual conflicts in the world. There is Another Way, the wording on this poster being used also for our leaflet relating to the centenary of the First World War. An order form for posters is available below.
During Yearly Meeting Gathering we also distributed copies of an update of our work this year and the Annual Report of our work in 2013. These materials can be found on our publications page here and copies are being prepared for each Local and Area Meeting in the North. Finally, we were pleased to collaborate at the gathering with a number of other Quaker bodies in running an interest group session on the theme of Peace and Environment: Making the Connections. The groups involved in that session produced a handout with a bit more information about our different areas of work – a PDF of this is available to download from the link below.
