Northern Friends Peace Board members will soon be gathering at Friargate Meeting House in York on Saturday 26th November for their final meeting of the year. In the morning, Edinburgh Friend Janet Fenton will be speaking about the proposed nuclear weapons ban treaty, that was put in motion by the UN recently. Janet has been in New York working on this this autumn. Michael Elstub, of Settle Meeting, will be talking about the work of Veterans for Peace.
The meeting will also, as with all our meetings, be an opportunity for Friends to spend time in worship, to exchange news and information about peace action and concerns throughout the North. On this occasion we shall also spend time reflecting on the past year and looking at priorities for the coming year.
We are always pleased when Friends from the region in which we are meeting are able to join us for any or all of the day. Please contact us if you want further information.
The timing for our meeting is as follows:
10:00 onward – arrivals
10:45 Opening worship and morning session
2:00 Afternoon session
4:15 Close and departures
